Ubisoft has announced plans to launch a free Ethereum NFT Mint for profile pictures related to the upcoming game Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, which is being developed on the Oasys blockchain. This game will feature thousands of unique and powerful heroes as well as collectible cards. The release for PC is planned for early 2024.

Although the introduction of Tezo’s NFT in Ghost Recon Breakpoint by Ubisoft – the giant behind titles such as Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance – was met with disapproval from gamers, the company continues to embrace blockchain technology.  The company plans to offer a free Ethereum NFT coin in its latest game.

Ubisoft announced on Twitter the launch of a free NFT coin for profile picture sets (PFPs) that comes with Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, which utilises the Oasys blockchain. Users can mint NFTs by simply paying the gas fees of the Ethereum network.

The Warlords PFP look like pixelated retro video game characters. According to the official website, the NFT Warlords will give owners early access to free in-game champion miniatures.

There will be 9,999 NFT Warlords in total; 8,000 will be made available at the Mint, 1,000 will go to the Oasys community and 999 will be retained by Ubisoft for potential giveaways and future marketing campaigns.

Ubisoft is calling for NFT mining by liking, retweeting and commenting on the tweet with this announcement. The company will randomly select 50 people from the responses to receive access to a special Discord server just for gamers.

Since the game was first announced in the summer, Ubisoft has regularly released new information on Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. The game was developed with cryptocurrency in mind.  According to the latest information, it is an online strategy game where in which compete with fantastic characters against thousands of unique and powerful characters. Ubisoft has released graphics reminiscent of playing cards to enrich the strategic experience.
