Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has criticized the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for citing Ripple’s quarterly XRP Markets as evidence against the firm in an ongoing lawsuit. Garlinghouse said the firm issued the reports voluntarily to increase transparency. However, the SEC used them to build a case against the company. Garlinghouse has warned that future XRP reports could change. The criticism of the SEC’s handling of the XRP lawsuit was echoed by XRP lawyer John Deaton. Ripple won a partial victory in the lawsuit when the judge ruled that XRP was not a security.
