Over the week, Multichain users suffered more than $3 million because of a security issue in six tokens. However, a white-hat hacker returned 322 ETH; over 527 ETH is still being abused. In an unexpected turn of events, one of this week’s Multichain hackers refunded 322 ETH ($974,000 currently) to the cross-chain router protocol and one of the impacted users.However, the hacker retained 62 ETH ($187,000) as a “bug bounty,” and a sum of 528 ETH (worth $1.6M) still unclaimed following the attacks.The tokens WETH, PERI, OMT, WBNB, MATIC, and AVAX were all affected by a security issue with Multichain earlier this week, resulting in the theft of $1.43 million.The six tokens’ major susceptibility persists, but Multichain has pulled $44.5 million from several chain bridges to secure them.One of the hackers, describing himself as a “white hat,” has been in contact with both Multichain and a user who suffered $960,000 in the last day or two, seeking to negotiate the recovery of 80 % of the fund
