Meet Grok: Elon Musk’s rebellious artificial intelligence

Meet Grok

Elon Musk’s xAI company is launching Grok, the first AI bot, on the X social media platform. Grok is expected to compete with ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI. Musk claims that Grok outperforms ChatGPT 3.5 in benchmark tests. Grok is described as an artificial intelligence inspired by the Galaxy Guide, designed to provide answers with humour and a slightly rebellious approach. It is currently in early beta.

  • Grok, the first artificial intelligence (AI) bot created by Elon Musk’s xAI company, will soon become part of the X social media network.
  • The AI bot will even answer spicy questions that are rejected by most other AI systems.
  • Grok is currently in early beta.
  • The company assured consumers that, with their help, bot AI will grow.

Grok, the first artificial intelligence (AI) bot created by Elon Musk’s xAI company, will soon be integrated into the X social platform. After coming out of beta, Elon Musk announced that it will be available to all users using the X Premium+ service. In addition, Grok will be offered as a  standalone app.

Grok is forecast to enter into competition with ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, a company that Musk co-founded in 2015. In 2018, Musk left OpenAI’s board of directors due to a conflict of interest with his Tesla company, which manufactures electric vehicles. In addition, Tesla and other companies associated with Musk cooperate with xAI.

The day before the launch of Grok, Musk published a post on Platform X in which he stated that in many important respects it is the best solution at the moment. Musk asserted that the current prototype has outperformed ChatGPT 3.5 in multiple comparison tests.

At the startup’s launch in July, the billionaire stated that xAI definitely competes with OpenAI. Musk stated that he is developing TruthGPT which is a maximum truth-seeking artificial intelligence that can compete with ChatGPT, Google’s Bard and Microsoft’s Bing AI.

In an interview with Fox News in April, Musk said he was going to start what he called TruthGPT or maximal truth-seeking artificial intelligence that tries to understand the nature of the universe. Furthermore, Musk believes that humans are an interesting part of the universe, so this may be the best way to be safe because it is unlikely that artificial intelligence that cares about understanding the universe will annihilate humans who, after all, are part of that universe.

Grok is described by xAI as artificial intelligence modelled on the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, having the ability to answer almost anything and, more difficultly, even suggest what questions to ask.

According to startup AIGrok, it was designed to answer questions with a bit of wit, on top of which it has rebellious tendencies, so the company warns that it should not be used if you do not have a sense of humour.

The AI bot will answer spicy questions that are dismissed by most other AI systems. The startup also claims to have knowledge of the world in real time through platform X.

According to xAI, Grok is currently in early beta. The company has assured consumers that, with their help, the bot AI will roll out over the next few weeks.
