El Salvador is reportedly postponing the issue of a Bitcoin (BTC)-backed bond because of unfavorable market conditions triggered by the current geopolitical turmoil. As previously expected, El Salvador’s volcanic bonds will not go live in March, according to Finance Minister Alejandro Zelaya in an interview with a local TV channel.Zelaya attributed the delay to the volatile prices of bitcoin fuelled by the Russia-Ukraine crisis. He explained that El Salvador’s government has decided to wait for favorable conditions on the financial market, stating:“Now is not the time to issue the bond […] In May or June the market variants are a little different.
